She has owned a yoga studio in Richland, WA, co-owned a studio in Austin, TX, has led countless workshops, and been a lead trainer in multiple 200 hour teacher trainings. Jenn began her yoga practice in 2002 as a way to physically heal her body from multiple injuries. It was during this time she noticed the positive effects yoga had on her mind and emotional wellbeing. Her experience with the profound healing quality of yoga inspired her to become a teacher and share yoga with others. While Jenn has studied various forms of yoga her heart and passion lies with the vinyasa tradition in which the breath, body and mind can meld in moving meditation. Jenn’s classes are mindful, slow flow, alignment based, uniquely sequenced, playfully challenging, and specifically tailored to the needs of her students. She encourages her students to explore their possibilities while offering a welcoming environment. Jenn has worked with a diverse population, including children with developmental disabilities, cancer patients, injured athletes, and individuals suffering from MS and Parkinson’s. Her passion lies in helping people improve their overall quality of life through the calming and healing practice of yoga.
Jenn received her BA in Anthropology and did graduate research in ancient Maya cave archaeology. She attributes her background as an anthropologist and archaeologist to her firm belief that yoga truly is for everybody, regardless of age, ability, background, or belief.
Growing up an athlete, Laura Robertson felt so unusually challenged in her first yoga class back in 2012 that she was instantly hooked. Over the next few years she grew stronger not only in her physical practice but also felt a shift internally. Having struggled with anxiety and panic attacks, she began to notice yoga helped alleviate it and began to use yoga as a tool to help her stay present. As her passion grew Laura knew her path was to share the practice of yoga with others. Laura completed her 200 HR training—right here in Austin—in alignment vinyasa based style. Her classes combine the perfect amount of strength building and form with a strong focus on using the breath to stay present and surrender to the healing of yoga.
Bobbie Jennings’s desire to teach yoga began after becoming a mom. The support and friendships she received in prenatal yoga classes greatly impacted the birth of her two children. After moving to Austin from the Midwest, she fell in love with the beautiful mix of Buddhism and yoga taught at Dharma Yoga, where she completed your 200 Hour Training. Honored to have trained with Keith and Camilla at Dharma Yoga, Bobbie believes that through yoga, meditation, and the healing power of touch, we can achieve a greater spiritual connection with ourselves and others both on and off the mat.  Find out more at KhantiYoga.com.

Emilee Robinson‘s love for yoga is contagious. She began practicing nearly a decade ago and in 2012 she completed her 200 hour teacher training in Portland, Oregon. Once she started teaching she knew she had found her path. Sharing yoga with others has empowered her practice and helped in discovering her unique purpose. As a lover of movement and nature, Emilee is passionate about her practice both on and off the mat. She practices Vinyasa and Power Yoga, as she enjoys both a traditional practice in the studio as well as a spontaneous floating flow with her SUP (stand-up paddleboard) on the water. www.emileeyoga.com

Megan Gorey, RYT 200 – “Growing up in Nashville, Tennessee, I’ve always been interested in various types of movement. I have a background in competitive gymnastics and spent my childhood and young adulthood in the gym pushing my body to its limit. Yoga came into my life in 2009. I initially thought of it as a way to maintain my flexibility in a new way but soon discovered its power to help me cope with depression, anxiety, and auto immune pain. I finally found something that could challenge me physically and mentally and help me shed my competitive nature. I began to deepen my practice in Portland, OR and finally embarked in a teacher training here in Austin. I was lucky to be part of HPYC’s first teacher training and received my 200 hour certification in 2014. In 2015 I became a registered children’s yoga teacher through Yoga Yoga. When I am not teaching yoga, I coach non-competitive gymnastics to children, spend time bicycle touring around the country and enjoy camping and being out in nature. I am very grateful for this beautiful community and look forward to meeting you!”
Karla Hoover started attending yoga classes at the same time she began rock climbing in 2009. She had noticed that her lack of flexibility and strength limited her movement on the wall. After a couple months of yoga, she noticed a significant increase in her strength, mobility, and mood. In 2011, she decided she wanted to share her love of yoga with others, and she completed her first 200 hour Vinyasa training while living in Chicago, Illinois. She enjoys teaching a lighthearted, high energy class with an emphasis on alignment and safety for every “body.” Karla is currently working towards her 500 hour certification through Yoga Yoga in Austin, Texas.

Ashley Cheng is a native Austinite who specializes in Forrest Yoga & Vinyasa. She received her first 200-hour Vinyasa certification through YogaWorks under Natasha Rizopolous in Boston and completed the Forrest Yoga 200-hour foundation training with Ana Forrest in Chicago along with a year-long advanced teacher mentorship with Cat Allen and Ann Hyde in Houston. She has also studied hands-on healing and assisting with YogaHope founder Sue Jones and Prana Flow teacher Simon Park

Melinda Barsales began practicing yoga after moving away from her home state of Texas in 2001 to live in San Francisco, CA. After being introduced to Vinyasa Krama Yoga as taught by Steven Ross and Pam Johnson, she decided to pursue her 200-hour teacher training certification with Srivatsa Ramaswami at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. Her classes emphasize the cultivation of self-awareness of both the physical and subtle bodies, pranayama, meditation, and chanting, and the Vinyasa Krama tenet of linking graceful movement with breath. She has received continuing education in Ayurveda and Yoga and Yin Yoga through Sacred Roots School of Yoga. https://www.melindabarsales.com/

Leigh Fisher, E-RYT 500. Leigh Fisher empowers yoga students of all shapes and sizes to love themselves just as they are. She believes that anyone can practice yoga, and everyone should, you just have to find the style that is right for you! Leigh loves vinyasa flow, a practice that’s light hearted and challenging, and the steady strength of alignment based yoga, so that’s how she teaches. While leading fun, high-energy classes, Leigh strikes a balance between flowing movement and strong posture alignment. She strives to create a joyful and safe atmosphere, offering a supportive and loving environment to all her students. Leigh teaches yoga because she hopes to share the peace and balance that she’s found through her personal practice with as many people as she can. Leigh is proudly based in Austin, Texas; the greatest city in the world.  When Leigh isn’t on her mat, she is also an interdisciplinary theatre artist, vocalist, and proud mama to an amazing little girl.

Elizabeth Jurewicz is a graduate of Austin’s Yoga Illumined 200 hour Teacher Training program. Her yoga journey began simply, in 2008 with the $5 community classes offered in her neighborhood. However it was the benefits yoga brought to her life off the mat that kept her coming back. She looks forward to exploring the principles of alignment, focus, and flow with you as you deepen your hatha practice.

Michelle Widmer, a 200 hour graduate of Yoga Illumined (Kristina Lanuza and Zoe Mantarakis), has been practicing yoga for over 10 years including trainings at KripaluAnanda Ashram, and a Restorative Yoga training with Judith Lasater at Yoga Yoga in Austin.  She loves a moment when a pose can make the heart sing and the mind focus.  When not on the mat Michelle can often be found in the garden as a farmer in her local neighborhood CSA.

Singer Mayberry (RYT 200) grew up in Austin, where she currently teaches Restorative and Hatha Yoga. With over 450 hours of yoga training, Singer has two 200 Hour Teacher Certifications in Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga. Singer has also spent time studying Yin Yoga with Heather Tiddens, and in 2016 completed the Level 1 Restorative Yoga Program with Judith Lasater at Yoga Yoga. Singer is also the founder of www.theartofyogaschool.comthe_art_of_yoga_school_logo

In addition to being a local yogi, she spends her time playing guitar in her dark-pop duo (Bitter Birds) with her husband, co-owning the art gallery/yoga studio “Black Lagoon: Art + Yoga”, and being a fun and loving mother to her 8 year old daughter. As co-owner of Black Lagoon, Singer’s vision of bringing Art + Yoga together under one roof has continued to grow since the first Saturday morning classes began in 2012 at the gallery space. Every year she is amazed by the continual growth of this yoga community that has been built over the years with the help of her many friends and fellow teachers. Singer continues to attend yoga workshops and trainings, seeking inspiration and knowledge to deepen her practice.

“As a musician and artist, I love to create inspiring yoga experiences for my students. Always paying attention to the details, I find value in “curating” everything from my music playlists, to incorporating the use of essential oils & smudging to help even out the energy in my classes. The practice of yoga has brought balance to my life, nurturing my body, mind and soul. My practice helps me to live in a state of calm and consistency, even during times when my life seems utterly chaotic. Through my classes, I hope to share many valuable moments of calmness and clarity, encouraging balance in all of my students lives.”
